LUMO is a children’s book series created by Olympic gold medallist Rory Gibbs. Set on Planet Lumo, a bright and fantastical world powered by the glowing Lumotonic Crystal, the stories follow the Crystal Crew, a group of young friends whose abilities are loosely tied to various sports.

Although the Crew have special talents, they don’t always know how to use them well. Each mission teaches them important values such as teamwork, kindness and confidence as they work together to protect their planet from those who would love to take the Crystal’s magic. The books are written for ages three to five, blending colourful action with gentle lessons and fun challenges that keep children learning long after the story ends.

Rory created LUMO because he saw that talent alone only takes you so far. The people who go on to do amazing things are the ones who stay curious, lift others up and keep going when things are difficult. These qualities shaped Rory’s own crew at the Olympics, and they are the heart of every story in LUMO.

Rory now shares these messages with children across the country through school visits and storytelling sessions. His hope is to bring Planet Lumo to life for even more families through future books, activities and, one day, an animated series.

LUMO is still growing, and we love seeing how children engage with the stories. If your little ones enjoy the books or try the activities inside, feel free to share their drawings or moments with us. It helps bring Planet Lumo to life for more families.
